Attempting to Please
I want to do a lovely thing,
to please and warm your heart.
Savory, delicious food I'd bring,
or flowers from the mart.
I'd try to wear your favorite dress,
or style, with skill , my hair,
avoid all disarray and mess,
to show I'm glad you're there.
It may be that you'll eat the food,
with subjects on your mind,
that you regard as just as good,
more fascinating find.
My dress and hair be simply there
among points of our greeting,
Ideas more a thing to share,
as we enjoy our meeting.
May one present a good surprise,
when, can she really know him?
You'll see that, as one loves, she tries::
I'll give to you a poem.
